These Terms are supplemented by property-specific terms where applicable. Rotorcraft Network members are additionally subject to the Rotorcraft Network Terms set out in Part B of this document.
PART A — GENERAL NETWORK TERMS
These terms apply to all MainGearbox properties and websites.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using any MainGearbox website you accept these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of our sites after changes are posted constitutes your agreement to the updated terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
2. Eligibility & User Obligations
You must be at least 16 years of age to use any MainGearbox website or create an account on any MainGearbox property. By using our websites you represent that you meet this requirement.
By using our websites you agree to the following:
- You will not post illegal, harmful, defamatory, or copyright-infringing content.
- You will respect other users on Rotorcraft Network features and forums.
- You will provide accurate information when submitting listings to Rotorcraft Directory.
- You will not attempt to access any portion of our sites through unauthorized means.
- You will not use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or harvest content from our sites without prior written permission.
- You will not use our sites for spam, phishing, or any fraudulent purpose.
- You will accurately represent your identity and professional affiliations.
3. Content Ownership
MainGearbox Original Content
All original content created by MainGearbox including articles, graphics, logos, design elements, and site architecture is owned by MainGearbox and protected by applicable copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our original content without written permission.
User Generated Content
Content you submit to our sites such as posts on Rotorcraft Network, directory listing information, or comments remains your property. By submitting content you grant MainGearbox a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote that content across our network of websites. You retain ownership and may delete your content at any time.
Third Party Aggregated Content
Content aggregated from third-party RSS feeds on Rotorcraft News remains the intellectual property of the original publishers. MainGearbox claims no ownership over aggregated third-party content. All aggregated articles include attribution and link directly back to the original source. If you are a publisher with concerns about how your content appears on Rotorcraft News please contact us through our contact form at maingearbox.com/contact-us/.
4. Rotorcraft Directory Listings
Companies and individuals submitting listings on the Rotorcraft Directory are responsible for the accuracy of their listing information. MainGearbox does not independently verify licenses, certifications (including FAA or EASA credentials), insurance, safety records, or any other information submitted by a listing business. Listings are provided by the businesses themselves and are not vetted, endorsed, or guaranteed by MainGearbox. MainGearbox reserves the right to edit, reject, or remove any listing that contains inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate content. Paid listing fees are subject to the refund policy described at the time of purchase and in Section 8 below.
5. No Guarantee of Results
MainGearbox does not guarantee that any directory listing, advertisement, job posting, classified ad, or other paid or free service will generate inquiries, leads, sales, applications, website traffic, search engine rankings, or business opportunities of any kind. Visibility and results depend on numerous factors outside our control, including market demand, listing content, and third-party platform behavior (such as search engines). Purchasing a paid service does not create any guarantee of business outcome.
6. Advertising and Sponsored Content
MainGearbox and its associated websites display paid advertising. Advertising relationships do not influence our editorial decisions or content aggregation practices on Rotorcraft News. Paid and sponsored content is clearly distinguished from editorial content where required by applicable law and FTC guidelines.
MainGearbox reserves sole editorial discretion regarding the acceptance, placement, scheduling, modification, labeling, and removal of any advertising, including the right to reject or remove advertising that is misleading, infringes third-party rights, promotes a competing directory or network platform, or otherwise fails to meet MainGearbox’s advertising standards.
Advertising Refund Policy
Advertising purchases reserve limited digital advertising space within MainGearbox properties, including banner and rail placements, activity stream advertisements, and other promotional content as they become available. Once an advertising campaign has begun, purchases are generally non-refundable. Advertising performance — including impressions, clicks, engagement, leads, inquiries, or sales — is not guaranteed. MainGearbox may, at its sole discretion, issue a refund or advertising credit if the purchased advertising is not delivered due to a billing error, technical failure, or other error caused by MainGearbox. MainGearbox reserves the right to reject or remove advertising that does not meet Network advertising standards; if an ad is removed for this reason, MainGearbox may offer a pro-rated credit or refund at its discretion.
7. Search Ranking and Featured Placement
Search rankings, sorting order, category placement, and any recommendation logic used across MainGearbox properties may change at any time and are determined using factors selected by MainGearbox in its sole discretion. Except where a specific advertising placement or featured-listing package has been purchased, no ranking, sort position, or placement is guaranteed.
Listings or accounts designated as “Featured,” “Premium,” or a similar tier may appear in designated promotional areas of the site but are not guaranteed exclusive visibility, a specific rank, or placement on every page or in every search result.
8. Payment, Subscriptions & Renewals
Certain features of MainGearbox properties, including directory listing packages, advertising placements, and Rotorcraft Network classifieds tiers, require payment of applicable fees. Where a subscription or recurring package is offered, it may renew automatically at the then-current rate unless canceled prior to the renewal date, as described at the point of purchase.
You are responsible for keeping your payment information current. Failure to pay applicable fees, or a lapse in a valid payment method, may result in suspension or removal of the associated listing, advertisement, or account feature until payment is received. MainGearbox reserves the right to change pricing for future billing cycles; changes will not retroactively apply to a period already paid for. Applicable taxes, where required, are the responsibility of the purchaser.
9. Chargebacks
If a payment made to MainGearbox is disputed, reversed, or charged back through a bank or payment processor, MainGearbox may immediately suspend or terminate the listing, advertisement, or account feature associated with that payment pending resolution of the dispute, regardless of whether the underlying service was already delivered in whole or in part.
10. RSS Aggregation Disclaimer
Rotorcraft News aggregates publicly available RSS feeds from third-party publishers. MainGearbox is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or availability of aggregated content. All aggregated articles link to and credit the original publisher. MainGearbox does not reproduce full article content and operates in accordance with standard RSS syndication practices.
11. Third Party Links
Our sites may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for your convenience. MainGearbox is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party websites. Linking to a third-party site does not constitute an endorsement.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
OUR SITES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. MAINGEARBOX DOES NOT WARRANT THAT OUR WEBSITES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOUR USE OF OUR WEBSITES IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
We make no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or safety-relevance of any content posted by members, submitted by directory listers, or aggregated from third-party RSS feeds, including but not limited to any claimed licenses, certifications, or credentials appearing in a directory listing.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAINGEARBOX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE OUR SITES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES RESULTING FROM USER-GENERATED CONTENT, THIRD-PARTY LINKS, DIRECTORY LISTING ACCURACY, OR AGGREGATED CONTENT.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of our sites shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100).
14. Availability of Services
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of any MainGearbox website or paid service. Scheduled maintenance, software updates, hosting issues, or other technical problems may temporarily affect availability, and MainGearbox is not liable for any resulting loss.
15. Force Majeure
MainGearbox is not responsible for any delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to internet or hosting outages, cyberattacks, natural disasters, labor disputes, acts of government, or other events beyond MainGearbox’s reasonable control.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MainGearbox, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of our sites, your submitted content, or your violation of these Terms.
17. Termination
MainGearbox reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to any or all of our websites at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms of Use or is otherwise harmful to other users, MainGearbox, or third parties. Violation of these Terms or receipt of a valid user report regarding a listing may result in immediate removal of the associated content or listing; removal on this basis does not entitle the account holder to a refund of any remaining prepaid term.
18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Before filing any legal action, you and MainGearbox agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve any dispute informally. A party intending to bring a claim must first provide written notice describing the dispute and the requested resolution, using our contact form at maingearbox.com/contact-us/, and the parties agree to attempt to resolve the matter through informal discussion for at least thirty (30) days before filing suit, unless emergency injunctive relief is required.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, any legal action arising from these Terms or your use of the Sites must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Denton County, Texas, and each party consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
19. Limitation on Filing Claims
Any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Services must be brought within one (1) year after the claim first arises, or the claim is permanently barred, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
20. Changes to These Terms
MainGearbox reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes become effective when posted to this page. The Last Updated date at the top of this page reflects when changes were most recently made. Your continued use of our sites after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
21. Electronic Communications
By creating an account or purchasing a service on any MainGearbox property, you consent to receive electronic communications from us regarding your account, purchases, renewals, invoices, and other service-related notices. You agree that these electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

PART B — ROTORCRAFT NETWORK
Network Terms of Use
Applies to members of Rotorcraft Network at network.maingearbox.com
These Network Terms of Use supplement the General Network Terms in Part A and apply specifically to members of Rotorcraft Network, the MainGearbox professional network platform for the rotorcraft and vertical flight industry. In the event of any conflict between Part A and Part B, Part B governs for Rotorcraft Network members.
Rotorcraft Network is a professional network dedicated exclusively to the rotorcraft and vertical flight industry — a platform where pilots, engineers, mechanics, operators, manufacturers, and industry professionals connect, share knowledge, and advance the industry together.
23. Network Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to register for or use Rotorcraft Network. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the website.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account information updated. Accounts registered with false information may be suspended or permanently deleted without notice.
24. Account Registration & Username Policy
When you register for a Rotorcraft Network account, you agree to: – Use a real name, professional handle, or recognizable identity as your username. Randomly generated strings, nonsense characters, or clearly fictitious usernames are not permitted and will be automatically removed. – Provide a valid email address that you control and monitor. – Create a password that is unique to this account and not shared with other services. – Keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. – Notify us immediately through our contact form at maingearbox.com/contact-us/ if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
We reserve the right to reject, suspend, or delete any account at our sole discretion, including accounts that violate these Terms or that we determine were created by automated means.
25. Network Standards & Acceptable Use
The Rotorcraft Network is a professional network platform dedicated to the rotorcraft and vertical flight industry. Members are expected to conduct themselves with the same professionalism they would bring to an industry conference or workplace environment.
25.1 You agree to: – Post content that is relevant to the rotorcraft, helicopter, gyroplane, eVTOL, UAM, or vertical flight industries. – Engage respectfully with other members, regardless of differing opinions, experience levels, or backgrounds. – Accurately represent your professional background, qualifications, and affiliations. – Respect the intellectual property rights of others when sharing articles, images, videos, and other content. – Comply with all applicable laws and regulations when posting content, including aviation regulations, export control laws, and privacy laws.
25.2 You agree NOT to: – Post spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or repetitive promotional content. – Impersonate any person, company, organization, or government entity. – Harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate other members. – Post content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or otherwise objectionable. – Spread misinformation about aircraft safety, airworthiness, or regulatory matters. – Use the Site to recruit members to competing platforms or services without prior written consent. – Scrape, harvest, or collect member data through automated means. – Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its infrastructure. – Post content that violates any applicable law, including content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
26. User-Generated Content
26.1 Your Content. You retain ownership of the content you post on Rotorcraft Network, including text, photos, videos, and other materials. By posting content you grant MainGearbox a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and adapt your content in connection with operating and promoting the website and the MainGearbox network. This license ends when you delete your content or close your account, except to the extent your content has been shared by others and they have not deleted it.
26.2 Content Standards. You are solely responsible for the content you post. You represent and warrant that: you own or have the necessary rights and permissions to post the content; your content does not violate the privacy, publicity, intellectual property, or other rights of any person or entity; and your content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.
26.3 Content Removal. We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to monitor, review, edit, or remove any content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. We will not be liable for any action taken or not taken with respect to member content.
27. Aviation Safety Content
Given the safety-critical nature of the rotorcraft industry, any content posted on the Rotorcraft Network that relates to aircraft maintenance, airworthiness, operational procedures, or regulatory compliance must be accurate to the best of the poster’s knowledge and clearly identified as personal opinion where applicable.
MainGearbox does not verify the accuracy of member-posted technical content and is not responsible for any reliance placed on such content. Always consult official sources, manufacturer documentation, and qualified professionals for safety-critical decisions.
Content that deliberately spreads false or misleading safety information will be removed and the account may be permanently suspended.
28. Account Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us through our contact form at maingearbox.com/contact-us/. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Site immediately ceases. Content you have posted may remain on the Site unless you have deleted it prior to account closure.
29. Job Listings
The Rotorcraft Network includes a job listings section where employers and recruiters may post open positions and members may browse career opportunities in the aviation and rotorcraft industry. By posting a job listing, you represent that: the position is genuine and currently available; all information provided in the listing is accurate and not misleading; you have the authority to post on behalf of the hiring organization; the listing complies with all applicable employment laws and regulations; and the listed compensation, location, and requirements are accurate at the time of posting.
MainGearbox is not a party to any employment relationship and assumes no liability for the accuracy of job listings, the outcome of applications, or any disputes between employers and applicants. Job listings are subject to admin approval before publication. MainGearbox reserves the right to remove any listing at its sole discretion without notice.
30. Classifieds
The Rotorcraft Network includes an aviation classifieds section where members may post aircraft, equipment, parts, and services for sale, lease, or exchange. By posting a classified ad, you agree that:
- All items and services listed are legal under applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- All listings are accurately described, including condition, specifications, and pricing.
- You have the legal right to sell, lease, or offer the listed item or service.
- Pricing and availability information is accurate at the time of posting.
- You will engage in transactions in good faith and honor commitments made to buyers.
- Aircraft listings include accurate registration, airworthiness, and logbook status information.
MainGearbox is not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers and assumes no liability for the accuracy of listings, the condition of items, the airworthiness of aircraft, or the outcome of any transaction. All transactions are solely between the posting member and the responding party. MainGearbox reserves the right to remove any listing at its sole discretion without notice.
Listing Tiers
- Free listings are visible for 5 days from the date of posting.
- Premium listings are visible for 60 days from the date of posting at the then-current published rate.
- All payments for Premium listings are non-refundable once the listing has been published.
MainGearbox reserves the right to modify listing pricing and tier durations at any time. Changes will be posted on the Classifieds page and will apply to new listings only.
